Abstract

For the purpose of identifying the mechanism of reminerali7ation, Experiments were carried out on the powdered enamel hyd vxyapatite and transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy used for elucidating the changes of hydroxyapatite crystals after demineralization and remineralization.
The results were as follows.
1. In demineralized enamel hydroxyapatite powder, Irregular surfaces of the powder were observed and Ca was decreased
2. In remineralized enamel hydroxyapatite powder, Powder partcle size was increased and Ca increased as time elapsed
3. In remineralized specimens, Hydroxyapatite precipitates were synthesized spontaneously as rernineralization time increased
